GSS' guitar cabs product range
More details
Discover GSS's complete range of guitar cabinets
No matter which is your final pick, all the cabs we offer are
optimized for the best sound quality/size/weight
compromise.
With the exception of our mini cabs,
all our cabinets are handmade from lightweight poplar wood, or spruce
for the more powerful models requiring greater rigidity.
All our
hand made cabs are assembled in the South West of France
, near the city of
Toulouse
.
How to select a guitar cab out of GSS' product range
Whether intended for
electro-acoustic guitars
,
hollow-body guitars
, or
solid-body guitars
, best results are always obtained with a 12" (31cm) speaker. Either our
Creamlite12
,
Double Cream
, and
Heavy12
models
for
electric guitars
, and
Acoustic Master
for electro-acoustic guitars
, are considered our
reference cabinets
.
Additionally, there is space for many compromises between the
mini “nomadic”
05GC100
cabinets and previously presented reference cabs loaded with 12" speakers. Our
cabinets loaded with 8" (20cm) and 10" (26cm) speakers
form a very interesting alternative when looking for
more compact and lightweight gear
.
The
08GC15
cabinet was primarily developed as a
compact solution for use with our GSS Tube Sandwich mini tube amp head
. Often, the sound quality of cabinets with moderate-sized speakers is hampered by selecting a speaker with too high a power rating, which leads to compromises in design, particularly when selecting a speaker with a too large moving coil size, thrus sacrifying sound definition and high-frequency extension. The
8" loudspeaker we have selected
for the
08GC15
cab was
purposely choosen with a moderate power rating to better match the sound of our "big" 12" cabinets
. It
pairs perfectly with our
Tube Sandwich
amp head and other low-power heads, whether
tube based mini-heads like Palmer's Einstein or Orange's Micro Terror or transistor based mini-heads like Hotone's Nano or Mooer's Little Tank
.
The GSS
08GC200
cabinet strikes a balance, offering a
very high power rating
for its size
. It was designed as a
complement to the GSS
05G200SJC Jazz Cat
and
Krazy Cat
mini combos,
boosting both the efficiency and the level of bass
of these mini combos' small 5" speakers.
The
GSS Mighty10 cabinet
has a
more balanced presentation, similar to the sound of the 12" speaker of our
GSS Creamlite12'
cab
, with a
high efficiency
allowing a
higher acoustic power
for the same electrical power output coming out of the amplifier head.
For
very small jazz bands (duos or trios)
, the
08GC200
might be ideal if you're looking for a
smooth sound with slightly recessed highs
.
For much
larger bands with a brass section, an electric bass player, and/or a loud drummer
, the
Mighty10
would be
more suitable in terms of spectral balance and acoustic power to “cut through the mix”
.
