Wow! That's my first impression of the GSS Double12 !

I think that it is quite a transparent sounding cab. It reproduces the sound that you put into it fairly accurately.

In rehearsal even the rest of the band noticed the difference. My bass was clearer and could be heard better than with my SVT-410. It was no longer just making low frequency sounds. You could hear the notes clearly. None of the notes stood out as louder or quieter, it was very even. There was really good note definition. I often struggle to hear what I am playing, I've got used to it over the past 35 years, but the Double12 meant that I could hear all of my notes. At times I wondered if I was too loud because I could hear myself so well, but none of the band complained, so I assume that it was an acceptable volume.

In the studio I own and run I get to practice and record my bass regularly through an Avalon V5 and listen to it on a pair of Adam A7X. So I know the DI sound of my bass quite well. What the Double12 does, if partnered with a good amplifier, is reproduce the sound of the bass accurately. What more can you ask for.

Compared directly during rehearsal with an Ampeg SVT-410HLF the GSS Double12 is in a different league. The SVT-410HLF sounds muddy, indistinct, wooly and a bit boomy in comparison. It sounds like a cab that I would expect to cost half the price of the Double12, not £200 more, if I was just judging by the sound. However I think that does the Double12 a disservice. It sounds like what I would expect from a £1000 cab. I doubt that there is anything available at the same price as the Double12 that sounds like it. I have never played through a cab that sounds as good as the Double12.

The only issue that I had is that the Laney Nexus-SL is quite light and kept walking towards the front edge of the Double12 during rehearsals. At the end of each song I had to push it back. It's not an issue. I'll see how my Markbass Little Mark Vintage behaves. Even if it has a similar issue I am sure that I can come up with a solution.

Many thanks, Pete.

Just received my 26B400 with a couple of cases. What can I say? Totally amazing, I normally play acoustic and fretless basses and this tiny combo makes them sing and punch. The sonic detail is beautiful and the quality of the engineering and construction is superb.

    Salut tout le monde.

Thanks to Didier for this great little Amp. I am using this for busking with the LiIon battery and some pedals.

Everything fits into one backpack.

I use just the amp for the busking, with the other cabinet it is mind blowingly good. and LOUD.

Best amp for busking by far.

Kudos, et grace a Didier.

Excellent little Amp that doesn't sound so little.

This thing is amazing. Put an EQ pedal and effects on it and you have a great sounding and loud Mini PA. Not to mention, ahem, guitar amp.

Great bottom end considering it's a sealed box and no porting. The sound really belies it's size.

It's also a thing of beauty. I attached a gold handle and potentiometers to mine. You have to see it!

Buy it now, don't even think about not doing so.

Supposedly, adding another cabinet, frees up another 50 watt amp and quadruples the sound logarithmatically ie, another 6db or so. Mind boggling. Have to get it.

Best thing I have ever bought.

I find this amp is very useful, small and light weight. It can be set anywhere: you plug it into a wall socket, set the volume pot and that's it. Its sound is very good and powerful. Setting the volume pot to mid position is way enough to play with drums and bass. I connected it to a multi-effect processor and got amazed at how neat the sound was in various configurations.
